Pocket Mirror - Horror inspired role-playing game
Pocket Mirror is a horror themed game created using RPG Maker VX Ace. It tells the story of a nameless girl searching for her place and memories of her past in a creepy and scary world.
2D Spooky role-playing goodness
Pocket Mirror takes inspiration from several Japanese horror games, such as Ib and The Witch's House, to create a creepy yet compelling setting and story. The game has a focus on crafting a believable world and a complicated narrative told through exposition and symbolism. Several playthroughs are recommended to fully appreciate and understand the lore, as well as to get the most out of the game. High quality custom sprite art craft both a compelling atmosphere and demonstrate the high production values not typically seen in many RPG Maker VX Ace games. Though at its core it is obviously powered by the RPG Maker engine, it has been heavily customised in almost every respect, showing a lot of dedication from the creator to create a truly well crafted horror experience.
Interactive horror fiction
Despite being built in RPG Maker, Pocket Mirror features little in the way of traditional RPG tropes like battling random monsters and levelling up. Instead, a unique story is told within a carefully crafted and gorgeous 2D world.
